Who is VETASSESS?
The VETASSESS Management Team is responsible for the development and implementation of the organisational strategy.
The Management Team consists of:

Karen Berkley, Executive Director
Karen has been Executive Director at VETASSESS since 2003 after 12 years in teaching, management and professional development within the Victorian Vocational Education and Training sector.
Karen has worked extensively with public and private sector organisations on the design and development of a broad range of professional development, competency standards, curriculum and training resource materials and web-based systems.
She has established contracts with the Ministry of Education in China, TESDA in the Philippines, Ministry of Higher and Vocational Education in India and GTZ on behalf of the Ethiopian government.
In addition Karen is Director of the Offshore Assessment Service and Qualifications Assessment Service and is responsible for industry and government liaison with Australian and international partner organisations as well as project development and quality assurance.
Karen holds a Bachelor of Behavioral Sciences, Graduate Diploma of Humanities, Diploma of Education and Graduate Diploma of Internet Technologies.

Sue Hamilton, Manager Skills Recognition
Sue has extensive knowledge of the VET sector at both national and international level.
She is currently managing the Skills Recognition International unit which conducts pre-migration trade skills assessments for applicants from five countries in selected trade areas. She has managed the Qualifications Assessment Unit which assesses the comparability of overseas qualifications against Australian qualifications for migration purposes.
Sue has undertaken a wide range of research, evaluation and curriculum and Training Package development projects for organisations including the Australian National Training Authority (ANTA), the Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority, the Western Australian Department of Training, Education Queensland, Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (Philippines) and the Office of Training and Tertiary Education.
Sue has significant experience in large scale project management and establishment of a range of assessment services and systems through project work undertaken at VETASSESS. She also has teaching experience in secondary schools and teacher education programs at the University of Melbourne.
Sue holds a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, Diploma of Training and Assessment, Bachelor of Education and is currently studying towards a Master of Education Policy (International).

Glen Salmon, Manager Corporate Services
Glen currently manages the Finance, Client Services, Operations and Quality units within VETASSESS and has been the Chief Financial Officer since joining VETASSESS in 2004.
He has been part of the strong business growth and organisational development of VETASSESS, being actively involved in the many new ventures undertaken in that time. Glen has extensive financial experience within VET and other sectors and has been a Fellow of CPA Australia since 1984.

Rosemary Woodger, Manager Skills Recognition - General Occupations
Rosemary Woodger joined VETASSESS in September 2006. Rosemary is the Manager of Skills Recognition – General Occupations (SRGO), and was previously Coordinator of the unit formerly known as Qualifications Assessment. She leads a team responsible for Skills Assessments for migration purposes for applicants who nominate an occupation in the managerial, administrative, professional or associate professional categories.
Before joining VETASSESS, Rosemary was employed for ten years at AEI-NOOSR (previously National Office of Overseas Skills Recognition) in Canberra in positions of Assessor, Senior Assessor and Acting Manager. She undertook research into overseas education systems and qualifications, and developed assessment guidelines and content for the AEI-NOOSR Country Education Profiles. Her other international education experience includes seven years as Education Counsellor with the Australian-American Educational Foundation. She holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Sydney with majors in Modern History and Psychology.

Barry Parker, Manager Human Resources
Barry currently manages the Human Resources area at VETASSESS together with the Early Childhood Validation Service.
Barry was appointed to VETASSESS in 2003 as Manager of the Qualifications Assessment Service. His extensive experience in the Department of Education in both assessment and recruitment areas have contributed greatly to the growth and development of VETASSESS.
Barry’s qualifications include a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) – Monash University and a Graduate Diploma in Education – Monash University.

VETASSESS have been providing advice and support to the vocational education and training (VET) sector since 1997. As a registered training organisation (RTO) of assessment-only services, we help and assist individuals, training providers and industry groups define and achieve their learning and assessment goals.
Since its establishment, VETASSESS has built a reputation for providing superior assessment solutions and systems to clients locally, nationally and across the world.
