Case studies

We have provided solutions to a large number of clients in various industries.  View a selection of our case studies below.

Consumer Affairs Victoria (CAV)

VETASSESS has worked with Consumer Affairs Victoria (CAV) for the past five years to develop a range of training and assessment resources that provide certification to real estate agents.

We worked with CAV – who are responsible for licencing and registering real estate agents in Victoria – to develop resources for two new prescribed courses in Victoria:

  • Course in Property (Agents' Representatives) - (21524VIC)
  • Certificate IV in Property (Real Estate Agency Practice) - (21525VIC)

The resources were jointly funded by VETASSESS and CAV, and included development of both learner and facilitator guides for each unit of competency.

Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority

VETASSESS worked with the Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority (VCAA) to produce information and training materials for an online assessment system.

VCAA – who provide curriculum and assessment programs for Victorian school students - engaged VETASSESS to help design brochures that describe the VCAA Assessment Online services to parents, teachers and schools.

We developed two detailed user manuals for teachers and technical administrators, as well a comprehensive online help program that integrates with the VCAA Assessment Online system.

This program included 25 video demonstrations depicting common user tasks within the system.

Ford Motor Company

VETASSESS worked closely with Ford Motor Company trainers and assessors to develop assessment tools for the Certificate II in Automotive Manufacturing.

The assessment tools were customised specifically for Ford and were
made available on VETASSESS’s online assessment system, assessit.net.

We also delivered a professional development program to revisit some of the assessment units of competency. This program was delivered to the trainers to assist them to use the newly developed tools.

Fundación Chile

VETASSESS worked with Fundación Chile to provide assistance with VET assessment system design.

Our work helped shape a World Bank proposal that aimed to establish a national VET system for Chile in the future.

Fundación Chile is a non-profit organisation that works to foster Chilean business and industry through technological innovation and implementation.

VETASSESS provided advice on two pilot programs that involved the development of competency standards in three industry sectors and the establishment of a process to recognise the skills of existing workers.

Australian National Training Authority

VETASSESS has worked with the Australian National Training Authority (ANTA) on numerous projects including:

  • development of a learning and assessment strategies kit
  • management of national training materials and intellectual properties
  • a strategic evaluation - consistency in competency-based assessment
  • review of national training packages.

Part of our engagement involved designing and developing a practical guide for trainers and assessors to address Standards 8 and 9 of the Australian Quality Training Framework (AQTF) Standards for Registered Training Organisations (RTOs).  The kit steps RTOs through the process of developing, documenting and reviewing learning and assessment strategies, with a particular focus on how to engage enterprises/industry in developing and validating these strategies.

VETASSESS was also involved with the review and analysis of the arrangements for managing national training materials. This involved reviewing the provision of services related to the storing, accessing, licencing, handling, maintaining and publishing of these materials.

The National Training Framework Committee also appointed VETASSESS to undertake a large research project to determine the factors impacting consistency in assessment within the VET sector.  This body of research involved clear recommendations that resulted in enhancements to the quality and consistency of assessment within the VET system.
