Applying for a trade occupation
VETASSESS conducts trade skills assessments under the General Skilled Migration Program (GSM) for people with trade skills intending to migrate to Australia from the United Kingdom, India, Sri Lanka, South Africa and the Philippines.
Am I eligible?
People currently residing in one of the following countries must apply to VETASSESS:
- India
- Sri Lanka
- United Kingdom
- South Africa
- Philippines
If you reside in another country you may choose to 'opt in' this service.
The nominated trades are:
- Bricklayer
- Cable jointer
- Carpenter
- Joiner
- Carpenter and joiner
- Electrical powerline tradesperson (lineworker)
- General electrician
- General plumber
- Motor mechanic
- Refrigeration and air-conditioning mechanic
- Supervisor occupations are also assessed in these trades
