All VETASSESS fees are in Australian dollars (AUD) and are non-refundable. You must pay the prescribed fee before each assessment stage commences
You can apply online (preferred) or submit a paper based application form by mail. Different fees apply according to which application method you choose.
The application fee for your training and employment check must be received before your assessment commences. Subsequently, the assessment fee for your technical interview or practical demonstration must be received before undertaken. If applicable to your visa type, additional fees for Points Advice may apply on the completion of a Successful Skills Assessment. Additional fees apply for reassessment, appeal or reissue of documents.

There are two (2) distinct regions associated with the fee structure at certain stages of the VETASSESS Skills Assessment.

Exemption from paying the GST component
Goods and Services Tax (GST) is a broad-based tax of 10% on most goods, services and other items sold or consumed in Australia. If you are not in Australia at the time of lodging the application you may be exempt from paying the GST component.
You need to provide evidence for this exemption if one of your addresses in your application is an Australian address.
Acceptable evidence includes:
- a Statutory Declaration
- a Notorial certificate
- a statement signed by a registered migration agent or lawyer.
This evidence must:
- clearly state that the applicant was not in Australia at the time of lodging the application
- be written on company letterhead
- be signed by the individual registered migration agent/lawyer making the statement (not a representative)
- be faxed or posted.
All VETASSESS fees are subject to change. Please note that technical interviews at non-established venues will incur an additional charge. In some circumstances VETASSESS is able to undertake 'in country' assessment at a higher charge. Please contact us for more information.
Payment methods
Payments must be:
- made payable to VETASSESS
- in Australian dollars
- paid and cleared 7 days prior to your scheduled test session or assessment
All payments are non-refundable.
You will be able to complete payment using any one of the following methods:
Online
We accept Mastercard or VISA where online application and payment is permitted.
By mail
We accept the following payment methods by mail:
- credit card (Mastercard or VISA)
- cheque – which must be cleared before the service is provided (overseas payments must be bank cheque or bank draft – payable at an Australian bank)
- Australia Post money order
In person
We accept the following payment methods in person:
- EFTPOS (electronic funds transfer point of sale)
- credit card (Mastercard or VISA)
Please note: we do not accept cash payments including in person, posted or paid into a bank account.

Refunds and withdrawals
Stage 2: Training and employment check application
- An administration processing fee will be deducted from the refund amount if the applicant requests to withdraw the application prior to the assessment being finalised.
- AUD $110.00 (GST inc) for applicants who are in Australia at the time of application
- AUD $100.00 (GST exc) for applicants applying from outside Australia
- No refund will be given if the request to withdraw is received after the assessment is finalised. Extenuating circumstances will be considered on a case by case basis and must be supported with accompanying documents, for example, illness/accident – medical certificate, death of a close relative – statutory declaration.
Stage 3: Technical interview/ Practical demonstration
1. Where an applicant requests to withdraw from the assessment process
- An administration processing fee will be deducted from the refund amount if the request to withdraw is received prior to the cut-off date (6 weeks) before the commencement of the scheduled assessment event date.
- AUD $110.00 (GST inc) for applicants who are in Australia at the time of application
- AUD $100.00 (GST exc) for applicants applying from outside Australia
- A cancellation fee will be deducted from the refund amount if the request to withdraw is received 6 to 2 weeks prior to the commencement of the scheduled assessment event date.
- AUD $550.00 (GST inc) for applicants who are in Australia at the time of application
- AUD $500.00 (GST exc) for applicants applying from outside Australia
- No refund will be provided if the request to withdraw from the assessment is received within 2 weeks prior to the commencement of the scheduled assessment event date. Extenuating circumstances will be considered on a case by case basis and must be supported with accompanying documents, for example, illness/accident – medical certificate, death of a close relative – statutory declaration.
- No refund will be provided if the applicant is a 'no show' and does not attend the assessment. This applies to reassessments also. Extenuating circumstances will be considered on a case by case basis and must be supported with accompanying documents, for example, illness/accident – medical certificate, death of a close relative – statutory declaration.
A penalty fee will be charged to rebook:
- AUD $330.00 (GST inc) for applicants who are in Australia at the time of application
- AUD $300.00 (GST exc) for applicants applying from outside Australia
2. Where applicant requests withdrawal / refund due to a change in advertised schedule made by VETASSESS
- A full refund will be provided if the applicant requests to withdraw from assessment process within 2 weeks of any change made to the advertised schedule. There are no extra charges for rescheduling the assessment in the same country.
- A refund of AUD$500.00 (+GST if applicable) will be provided if the applicant books into another VETASSESS assessment venue in another country prior to the next assessment event scheduled for the original country.
