| Welcome to the North Western Skills Store |
| The Skills Stores are a Victorian Government initiative to assist Victorians in recognising and developing their skills.
The North Western Skills Store will provide the Skills Store services to individuals, organisations and businesses in the north-west region of Melbourne. |
Recognise your skills. Build your future! |
| |
| What is a Skills Store? |
| North Western Skills Store consultants will help you gain recognition for your current skills and provide guidance on how best to update or improve your qualifications.
The consultants have the expertise to assist with a referral service for career and training options. |
| If you are an employer, North Western Skills Store can discuss skills recognition and specific training options for your employees to assist in developing and expanding your business or organisation. |
| School careers advisers can also be assisted with training-related information by the North Western Skills Store staff. |

| How can the North Western Skills Store help me? |
| The North Western Skills Store will provide |
- an opportunity for you to discuss your current skills and how you can get your skills recognised.
- a profile indicating how your skills match all or part of a qualification
- course information, training options and a referral to a training organisation in your area.

| What happens when I visit the North Western Skills Store? |
| You can either drop in to any of the North Western Skills Store shopfronts or make an appointment to meet with one of the Skills Store consultants. The Skills Store consultant can provide you with information about the Victorian vocational education and training system and discuss your current skills. |
| |
| The Skills Store consultant will help you identify your current skills and how your skills may be assessed against a nationally recognised qualification. The Skills Store consultant can then give you a personal referral to a TAFE institution or other registered training organisation to have those skills formally assessed. That way, your existing skills and experience may be recognised by a qualification or part of a qualification without you having to repeat training unnecessarily. |

| |
| How much does it cost? |
| All Skills Stores advice and referral services and an initial skills profile are free-of-charge. There may be fees and charges associated with training and the formal recognition assessment of your skills provided by a registered training organisation to which you have been referred. |
