Re-assessments, appeals & re-issues

If you have applied for a conveyancer assessment and received an unsuccessful outcome, there are opportunities for you to either have your assessment appealed, re-marked or re-assessed. We can also re-issue your assessment results if they have been lost or destroyed.

Knowledge test re-marks

You can apply for your knowledge test to be re-marked if you have received a ‘not yet competent’ grading and test responses have been a factor.

Where your test is re-marked, your mark will be altered to the average of both markings.
If you are given an increased mark, your ‘not yet competent’ grading will be reviewed.

Re-assessments

You can apply for re-assessment if you received a ‘not yet competent’ grading for your assessment, and are unsatisfied with the outcome and reasoning of the assessor.
The re-assessment is conducted with a different assessor, using your existing application and standing knowledge test results.

Where the assessors reach different outcomes, we will conduct a review of your overall assessment and take steps to determine a fair and appropriate outcome.

Appeals

You can lodge an appeal if you have a grievance regarding the assessment process or fairness in the way you were treated (and not your result).

We will review the situation and may form a panel with representation from Consumer Affairs Victoria (CAV), the Business Licensing Authority (BLA), TAFE, external assessors and other suitable independent panel members.

The outcome of an appeal finalises your application and no further review will be available.

Re-issue

You may have your Statement of Attainment re-issued if it has been lost or destroyed (fees apply).
