Sitting the knowledge test
As part of your conveyancer assessment, you will need to sit a knowledge test.
What you can expect
The knowledge test is broken up into six 40 minute tests, one for each unit you need assessment in.
The test is an open book test and mainly comprises multiple-choice and short answer questions.
The questions probe both your knowledge and your application of the knowledge. The test is collated with your documentary evidence, so as to collectively guide the assessor’s approach to your particular application.
Scoring poorly in the test will not automatically disqualify you from the assessment process. If you fail to demonstrate competency in any area, you will be given additional opportunities later in the assessment process.
Booking the test
Please contact VETASSESS anytime after registering online to arrange a test session and advise us of any special requirements.
If you need to cancel or reschedule, please contact VETASSESS at least 7 days prior to the scheduled session. Late cancellations or rescheduling, and failing to attend a scheduled test session may incur an administration fee.
Test location
All tests are held at VETASSESS.

Preparing for the test
Prior to attending the test, review our sample knowledge test questions.
These should give you an indication about what the test looks like, how questions are presented, the types of questions and how the test session is organised. However, the samples provided do not represent the full range of question types and do not necessarily represent the difficulty of actual test questions.
Prior to the test, make sure you:
- don’t have any outstanding or uncleared payments
- have contacted VETASSESS if you don’t have a current driver's licence or passport
Attending the test
You must register at the test venue during the 15 minute period before the test is scheduled to commence.
To register you will need to produce either a current driver’s licence or passport. If you do not have either of these you will not be able to enter the test room. If you cannot meet this requirement, please contact VETASSESS at least 7 days before the date of your test session to organise an alternative arrangement.
