Courses that recognise the VETASSESS Test

The VETASSESS Test is used to identify the literacy and numeracy competence of candidates wishing to apply for various courses offered by registered training organisations in Australia.

The range of courses that the VETASSESS Test is suited to are listed below.

Nursing

  • Certificate IV in Nursing
    This qualification leads to employment as a Division 2 Registered Nurse in Victoria.
  • Medication Administration
    This qualification leads to endorsement for Division 2 Registered Nurses in Victoria.
  • Certificate IV in Nursing Traineeship
    Generally, if you wish to sit for this test you must be sponsored by an employer in order to undertake the traineeship.
  • Diploma of Nursing

Community, welfare and aged care

  • Certificate III in Aged Care Work
    Leads to employment as an Aged Care Worker in an Aged Care Facility or working with elderly persons in their homes.
  • Certificate III in Home and Community Care
    Leads to employment as an Aged Care Worker in an Aged Care Facility or working with elderly persons in their homes.
  • Diploma of Community Welfare Work
    This qualification leads to employment as a welfare worker.

Child care

  • Certificate III in Children's Services
    Leads to employment as a Level 3 trained child care worker. This training can be extended to the Diploma level with additional units of study.
  • Diploma of Children's Services
    Leads to qualification and employment as a Level 4 child care worker.

Other

  • Certificate IV in Allied Health
    Prepares students to work as assistants to allied health professionals in the disciplines of physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, nutrition, dietetics and podiatry. Allied health assistant roles are becoming more involved in assessment and planning of therapeutic and rehabilitation programs.
