Sitting the test

If you are sitting the VETASSESS Test for literacy and numeracy as part of a course selection, you should familiarise yourself with how to register and what to bring on the day.

Book a test now, if you haven’t already.

Registration

Before sitting the test, you must register at the test venue during the registration period before the test starts.

To register you will need to show photo identification.

What to bring

You will need:

  • blue or black pens
  • HB or 2B pencils
  • erasers
  • sharpeners

You are not permitted to use:

  • calculator
  • dictionary
  • mobile telephone
  • other electronic devices

Mobile telephones, pagers, electronic devices, newspapers and bags inadvertently brought into the test room must be stored as directed by the test supervisors (usually under the test table/desk). Mobile telephones and other electronic devices must be switched off.

All other test materials, including blank paper for working notes, will be supplied.

Test rules

All candidates are required to observe the rules and standard instructions normally applied to the proper conduct of tests.

VETASSESS and RTOs view any breach of rules or instructions as extremely serious.
