Executive Director, Rob Thomason
Welcome to the first edition of the VETASSESS Bulletin, launched to keep our valued industry partners updated on new initiatives and to share our insights with you.
The staff of both VETASSESS and our online e-learning arm eWorks are now working remotely. We are operating normally and still taking applications for skilled migration purposes, for both professions and trades. We have had to make some adjustments to trade assessments for migration purposes and these are outlined below.
We are delighted that eWorks is working closely with the Victorian Government on its new Working for Victoria initiative that supports the reskilling of workers who have lost their jobs due to the COVID-19 virus, details below.
To support those of you who are working and studying from home, eWorks has options available now to ensure the transition to distance learning and the work processes associated with it are easier and accessible to apply.
Many business activities are being held as "virtual events" and more than 700 people registered for our migration webinar on March 18. This was a great response and we are looking forward to future events.
Earlier this year we announced a partnership with UK NARIC, the UK national agency for the recognition and comparison of international qualifications and skills. This will help us better serve customers in the UK and Europe.
The months ahead will be challenging but I can assure you that our team is working as hard as we can to maintain service to our customers and stakeholders.
