Renewal - expired skills assessment
If you hold a positive Skills Assessment and require a renewed Skills Assessment at the time of lodging your visa application, you can apply for a Renewal - expired skills assessment. Please note it is an applicant’s responsibility to confirm with the Department of Home Affairs whether or not a renewed Skills Assessment outcome is required for the intended visa application.
Pre-2010 Skills Assessment
Applicants with a pre-2010 Skills Assessment (assessment for qualification level only) are required to apply for a new full Skills Assessment under the current process and current assessment criteria.

- Employment stated on the original outcome letter is within the last five years and meets the current criteria:
Applicants with a skills assessment that has expired at the time of visa application may choose to apply for a Renewal by submitting the
SRG09 Renewal Request form (96KB pdf) and pay the relevant fee. The renewed copy of the original assessment outcome letter will list the original assessment date and a statement "Skills Assessment validated on (current date)".
Please note this option applies only to those VETASSESS skills assessments that include sufficient employment that is within the last five years and meets the current criteria. Only the employment period assessed previously will be listed on the renewed letter. No further employment or qualifications will be considered under this Renewal request. See option below if the assessment criteria/occupation group for the nominated occupation have changed.
- Employment stated on the original outcome letter is no longer within the last five years or assessment criteria for the nominated occupation have changed or applicant wishes to include additional qualifications and employment in the assessment:
Applicants are advised to submit the SRG35 form (607 KB pdf) with the required documents and relevant fee. Your qualifications and employment will be reassessed under the current process and criteria. VETASSESS cannot guarantee a positive reassessment.
