Selecting the right occupation for Skills Assessment can often be the most difficult step in the application process. This Skills Assessment Support consultation on a selected Australian occupation involves a 30-minute guided discussion about the Skills Assessment criteria that apply to a selected occupation assessed by VETASSESS. The aim of the service is to provide guided information to help applicants and migration agents make an informed decision in selecting the right occupation to nominate for a Skills Assessment application for migration purposes. Please note the advice offered does not guarantee a definitive outcome of your Skills Assessment against a select occupation.

Who can apply?

The consultation can be used by applicants and migration agents wanting to learn more about the VETASSESS Skills Assessment criteria for a selected general professional occupation. Please do not use this service if you have a pending or completed Skills Assessment application.

What are the steps involved?

Step one Register online providing contact details.
Step two Choosing from a list of VETASSESS occupations for consultation. If you are unsure of the occupation then please select 'general discussion'.
Step three Complete an online form listing your academic qualifications and relevant employment history for the last five years pertaining to the selected occupation. You do not need to submit any documentation for the consultation service.
Step four Select the most suitable consultation time /date from the available options provided.
Step five Pay online to confirm your booking.
Step six Participate in a 30 min consult with an experienced assessment officer

Fees

The 30 minute consultation will cost AUD $220 including GST.

Once you lodge your application there will be a minimum of 7 working days required. However, the date of the service provision will be subject to availability.

No. VETASSESS cannot provide information for occupations which are not currently assessed by us for Skills Assessment/ migration purposes.

Using your username and password generated when registering you can log back into the SAS online portal to track the status of your booking.

You are only able to reschedule your original consultation time at least two ‘business’ day PRIOR to your original scheduled booking time. To organise for a consultation to be rescheduled, please contact us via email to sas@vetassess.com.au. Your new booking time will be rescheduled at the discretion of VETASSESS. Further rebooking fees and charges may apply for additional rescheduled consultations.

VETASSESS will telephone you on your nominated contact phone number provided on booking. An SAS officer will attempt to establish contact with you until the first 10 minutes of your booking time. If after then you are still unreachable or cannot take the call VETASSESS will cancel your booking and you will forfeit the entire booking fee.

No. There is no requirement to use either of the Skills Assessment Support services before applying for a Skills Assessment. Information is available on our website about the requirements for Skills Assessments

For the consultation service, you may select one occupation or opt for a general discussion with an experienced assessment officer if you are unsure of the occupation to select.

You do not need to submit any documentation for the consultation service.

At the completion of the service, you will be able to download a summary of the points discussed in the SAS consultation.
