Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)
Recognition of prior learning (RPL) recognises skills acquired through formal and informal learning and work experience.
RPL can be used to award a formal qualification or for credits towards a qualification.
RPL is suitable for those who have:
- Readily available evidence
- Current skills that are relevant to the qualification
- Qualifications that have been superseded
The process assesses evidence of your competency to determine if you meet the requirements of the qualification, or units within a qualification.
The RPL assessment process has three stages: Confirmation of your Experience, Demonstration of Knowledge, Demonstration of Skills.
If you provide payment on time prior to each stage, you will have 8 weeks to collate relevant sufficient and authentic evidence, and another 2 weeks for assessors to assess and provide you with feedback for each stage.
