A digital badge is a web-enabled visual presentation of a skill or achievement that:
- Is instantly portable, shareable and verifiable
- Contains metadata on the credential
- Is shareable across multiple platforms

- Allows employers and recruiters to find recipients when looking for special skillsets through tags
VETASSESS currently issues a digital badge to every applicant who receives a suitable skills assessment outcome for a professional occupation. Applicants for the qualification comparison service also receive a digital badge.
Please note that Designated Area Migration Assessment (DAMA) applicants do not receive a digital badge.
Digital badges allow applicants to showcase their professional currency, credibility, and real-world experience.

The Credential - My eQuals
Our digital badges are issued through My eQuals, a secure and widely recognised digital credentialling platform. Digital badges can be easily shared on resumes, LinkedIn, professional portfolios, and with employers - providing a quick and trusted way to validate skills an employability.
All applicants who receive a suitable outcome for a professional occupation automatically receive their digital badge via email once their skills assessment is complete. Upon receiving the email, applicants can sign up for a My eQuals account and have their credentials linked by following the steps outlined in the email. Renewal
VETASSESS skills assessment are valid for three years from date of issue.
Digital badges for professional occupations have the same validity as professional skills assessments. To renew your digital badge, please visit our skills assessment renewals page here.
Digital badges for the qualification comparison service do not have an expiry date and therefore renewals are not required for them.
Fees
All applicants who receive a suitable skills assessment outcome automatically receive a digital badge at no additional cost. Digital badges are valid for three years from the date of issue.
FAQs
- VETASSESS did not provide me with a digital badge with my skills assessment completed some time ago. Can I apply for one now?

We are working to enable applicants who did not receive a digital badge in the past to be able to apply for one if they had previously received a suitable skills assessment outcome. An update will be coming soon.
- Do I need to submit documents to receive my digital badge?

Once you have received a suitable assessment outcome, you will automatically be issued a digital badge for your nominated occupation. No extra documents are required.
- What happens if I receive a suitable outcome for more than one nominated occupation?

VETASSESS issues everyone who receives a suitable assessment outcome for a professional occupation with a digital badge for their nominated occupation. In this instance, VETASSESS would encourage applicants to display a digital badge for their primary or most recent employment.
- Are Digital Badges available for Trades Occupations?

No. Digital badges are only available for the professional occupations we assess.
- Do I receive a digital badge after a DAMA or ILA assessment?

Please note that people who undertake a DAMA or ILA assessment do not receive a digital badge.
